Wild At Heart

I feel like I was born seeking adventure. I was born near the ocean just south of San Francisco and raised both in the city near Golden Gate Park and in the mountains of South Lake Tahoe. Instead of hanging at the mall on weekends I got up at 5AM and went hiking or skiing with friends, but always craved the sophisticated nightlife and high-end fashion of the city as well. I may have been the only girl I know who wore high heels to school in the Tahoe winter only to change into boots to run around in the snow as soon as I was home.

This juxtaposition of city chic and wild freedom has shaped my life and my work for as long as I can remember. I studied professional photography in Christchurch New Zealand and would ride Arabian horses bareback to the beach on the weekends and learn to do the Haka from my Maori flatmate. I attended Brooks Institute of photography in Santa Barbara for graduate school and used to make Rob Lowes non-fat iced cappuccino at the Starbucks down the street from his house. My life has been anything but boring and I've made it that way intentionally. I've shot portrait sessions and weddings everywhere from New Zealand to Cuba and Ireland, London, and Canterbury in the UK, Paris, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and everywhere in between. If there is a place on earth as yet undiscovered, I would love to be the first one to find it.

I am attracted to positive, happy, people who are a little bit strange. I love the dark, hate pumpkin spice, and still listen to records in my house from my parents' collection because I love the little pops and crackles. I see and celebrate the beauty in all imperfections. I love my work and it is more than a job, it's my life's passion and I am always excited to see what comes next.
